What's Here:

The Reception Center of the Laws Museum, located at the main entrance just west of the original Depot, is where you can check in and pay your admission donation, as well as browse the gift shop which includes Laws logowear, books, many other souvenir and items of interest, even snacks and candy.  Knowledgeable staff are on hand to answer any questions and provide guidance for your visit.  The Main Office of Laws Museum and Historical Site is located in the rear of the building.

 
Origin:

In the summer of ’65 Paramount Studios came to Laws to shoot a few scenes for the movie Nevada Smith, starring Steve McQueen.  This building was part of the on-location set, and was built to represent the fictitious town of 'Sweetwater.'  It was just a shell then, but Laws Museum volunteers went to work in 1966 to frame the interior and create a real building. Another restoration and remodel project was completed in 2020,
