Special Events

  • May 5 and October 6, 2012, all day, the famous semi -annual CHOO CHOO Swap Meet, "100 yard sales in one place".  Held at the Tri County Fair Grounds.

  • May 19, 2012, 11:00am to 4:00pm. The second annual LOCOmotive Geocache event   Learn the art of geocaching and get a chance to win one of two Garmin GPS units.  Raffle will begin at 2:00pm.  the event is free, bring a picnic or visit the community food booths.  this event is sponsored and funded by The County of Inyo.

  • June 16, 2012 Richard Elloyan in concert with The Peavine Pickers, and buffet style dinner catered by Michelle Denault.

  • September 2, 2012, Labor Day Weekend, Homecoming and Community Picnic (Annual Old Timers Picnic) on the museum grounds.

  • September 8, 2012, 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Our annual Good Old Days, games, exhibits, craft demonstrations, music, food, Union Carbide Mine Train rides (Continuously, 11:30-3:30 pm), and just plain good old fun!  A free event.  

Death Valley Railroad Car rides are scheduled for the holiday weekends from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and other times as warranted.   Special group rides can also be arranged through the museum office.

How about your Special Event?  The museum grounds is available for private special events such as weddings and receptions, birthday parties, reunions, etc., you name it.
